1. Acceptance of Terms

Using this Site — whether you're browsing the directory, submitting a listing, reading a blog post, or anything else — means you accept these Terms of Service in full. This applies to all visitors, business owners, and anyone who interacts with any part of the Site.

If you're submitting a listing on behalf of a business, you also confirm that you have the authority to represent that business and agree to these terms on its behalf.

2. Use of the Directory

You're welcome to browse and search the Veteran Owned USA directory freely. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible to find and support veteran-owned businesses. That said, the following uses are not allowed:

• Scraping or automated access — do not use bots, scrapers, crawlers, or automated scripts to extract listing data in bulk without our written permission.
• Data harvesting — collecting contact information from listings for unsolicited marketing, spam, or resale is strictly prohibited.
• Misuse— using the Site in any way that could damage, overload, or impair our servers, or interfere with other users' experience.
• Commercial redistribution — republishing or reselling directory content without our express written consent.

3. Listing Submissions

Veteran Owned USA is a directory for legitimate veteran-owned businesses. When you submit a listing, you agree to the following:

Eligibility

Listings must represent a real, operating business that is majority-owned (51% or more) by a U.S. military veteran. Franchises, multilevel marketing schemes, and businesses with no genuine veteran ownership do not qualify.

Accuracy

All information you submit — business name, address, contact details, category, description — must be accurate to the best of your knowledge. You are responsible for keeping your listing up to date. Outdated or inaccurate listings that mislead customers may be edited or removed.

Admin Rights

We review every listing before it goes live. We reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove any listing at our discretion — including listings that are incomplete, inaccurate, ineligible, or otherwise inconsistent with the mission of this directory.

False Claims of Veteran Status

Falsely claiming to be a veteran-owned business is a serious violation of these terms. Listings found to contain false veteran-status claims will be removed immediately. We take this seriously because it disrespects veterans and undermines the trust of customers trying to support them.

4. Veteran Status Verification

We support and encourage formal verification for businesses that qualify. The SBA's Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) certifications are recognized on our platform and displayed on verified listings.

If you hold a VOSB or SDVOSB certification, you may submit documentation during the listing process to have your certification badge displayed.

Misrepresenting veteran status or submitting fraudulent verification documents is a violation of these terms. We reserve the right to report suspected fraudulent claims to the appropriate authorities, including the SBA and the VA.

5. User Conduct

We built this site to support veterans and the people who want to do business with them. To keep it that way, all users must agree not to:

• Submit spam, fake listings, or multiple listings for the same business under different names.
• Harass, threaten, or intimidate any veteran business owner or other user.
• Use the Site for any illegal purpose or in violation of any local, state, or federal law.
• Impersonate another business, individual, or organization.
• Post content that is offensive, discriminatory, or harmful to the veteran community or general public.

Violations may result in removal of your listing and permanent ban from the Site.

6. Intellectual Property

Site Content

The Veteran Owned USA name, logo, site design, blog content, and all other materials created by us are © Veteran Owned USA. You may not reproduce, republish, or redistribute them without written permission.

Business Listings

Your business name, logo, photos, and description remain your property. We make no claim of ownership over the content you submit for your listing.

License to Display

By submitting a listing, you grant Veteran Owned USA a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, format, and distribute your listing information on the Site and in related promotional materials (such as social media posts or partner features) for the purpose of promoting your business and the veteran-owned business community.

7. Disclaimers

Veteran Owned USA is provided “as is.” We do our best to review listings before they go live, but we cannot guarantee that every listing on the Site is 100% accurate, current, or complete. Business information can change and we rely on owners to keep their listings updated.

We are not a party to any transaction between a user and a veteran-owned business. We are not responsible for the quality of products or services, disputes, or any other outcome of doing business with a listed company. Always do your own due diligence.

We make no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or fitness for any particular purpose of the information found on this Site.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Veteran Owned USA and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — this Site or any listings on it.

In plain English: we're a small, veteran-support directory. If something goes wrong with a business you found here, that's between you and them. Our total liability to you for any claim related to this Site is limited to zero dollars, since we charge nothing to use it.

9. Third-Party Links

The Site may include links to external websites — such as a business's own website, social media pages, or government certification resources. These links are provided for your convenience. We do not control external sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or accuracy. Linking to an external site does not imply our endorsement of it.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms will be resolved in the courts of North Carolina.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time as the Site grows and evolves. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll do our best to post a notice on the Site.

Continuing to use the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree with a change, you can stop using the Site and request removal of your listing by contacting us.
