Listing Submissions

When you submit a veteran-owned business to the directory, you provide:

• Business name
• Business address
• Phone number
• Website URL (if applicable)
• Business description and category

Contact Form Messages

If you reach out via our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message so we can respond to you.

Usage Data

We use basic analytics to understand how visitors use the site — things like which pages are visited and general traffic patterns. This helps us improve the directory. See the Cookies & Analytics section below for details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for three straightforward purposes:

• Display listings — Business information you submit is published in the public directory so customers can find and contact you.
• Respond to inquiries — Contact form messages are used solely to reply to your question or request.
• Improve the site— Aggregated usage data helps us understand what's working, fix issues, and make the directory more useful for veterans and their customers.

We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Listing Submissions

When you submit a business listing, there are a few things to know:

• Publicly displayed — The information you submit is intended to be public. It will appear on the directory listing page visible to all site visitors.
• Admin review first — Every submission goes through a manual review before it goes live. We do this to maintain the quality and accuracy of the directory.
• Removal requests honored — If you own a listed business and want it removed, just contact us. We will remove it promptly and without hassle.

4. Cookies & Analytics

We use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand site traffic and usage patterns. This may involve cookies or similar lightweight tracking technologies.

We do not use tracking cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell analytics data to third parties. Our goal is to understand how people use the directory so we can make it better — not to track individuals across the web.

5. Third-Party Services

Veteran Owned USA relies on two third-party infrastructure providers to operate:

• Supabase — We use Supabase to store listing and site data securely in the cloud. Supabase has its own privacy policy governing how data is handled on their infrastructure.
• Vercel — Our site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel processes web requests and may log basic connection information as part of normal hosting operations. Vercel also has its own privacy policy.

We choose providers we trust and that meet reasonable data protection standards. If you have concerns about how any third-party service handles data, we encourage you to review their privacy policies directly.

6. Data Retention

• Business listings — Kept in the directory indefinitely, or until the business owner requests removal.
• Contact form messages— Kept for a reasonable period to allow us to follow up and maintain records, then deleted. We don't archive old messages longer than needed.

7. Your Rights

If you have a listing in our directory, you have the right to:

• Request a correction— If your business information is outdated or inaccurate, contact us and we'll update it.
• Request removal — You can ask us to remove your listing at any time. We will honor that request without requiring you to jump through hoops.

8. Children's Privacy

Veteran Owned USA is a business directory intended for adults. The site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the site grows or as legal requirements change. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top. We won't change how we handle your data in a material way without reflecting that here. Since we don't have an account system, we can't notify you directly — so feel free to check back if you have questions.
